Are they the only chance to save gaming from the effects of big business or are they pretentious hipster bullshit?

What is IZ's opinion on indie games

Is there anyone here who actively avoids indie games?
That's what I want to know.

The new update was cool, but it had so much potential. I feel like its too late now :(

Aw man, I remember you being so hyped for that game T-T
I don't think most indie devs are willing to take your gaming innocence away from you though

Another thing about indie games that pisses me off is when they consider badly drawn "retro"
Pretty much the only properly retro indie game is shovel knight

Well big studio games can be let downs too but the thing about indie devs is that they often exaggerate you don't know if they'll pull it off

Isn't saying a sequel or spiritual successor is going to be way better than the original incredibly common or no?
I think the problem with Starbound is that it was riding off the back of Terraria which was a massive hit and it gave a lot of people gaming experiences they didn't previously have with other games. Most indie titles don't have this liberty.
I also think a lot of the hype was something the gaming community itself who thought it would be a better game. After all, the dev team (though with a few different members) had far more time to develop the game and they had more experience of how this game was going to operate.
Maybe the Starbound team should've just been more responsible and I'm just blabbing, but eh

I tend to have more fun with indie games than AAA games.
