Would anyone be interested in a play-by-post D&D/other P&P RPG game?

I'm willing to GM and I can work with just about any system out there. With rolls, I guess I'd have to trust you (I do not) or use Roll20 for the game instead of play by post. I'm fine with play-by-post with you guys fudging rolls or just not doing them at all and posting outright lies if that's what you'd prefer.

Well, since it's you... I suppose I'd be willing to teach you AD&D 2. Not because it's really any better than other editions, but because it's so much easier to fuck players up without actively trying to kill them.

Or maybe the D&D Next playtest. It seems great for new players thus far. Plus it's pretty bare bones so it's not as intimidating as the typical 400 or 500 page fare.

You'll want to open the "how to play" pdf first.

I've been playing first edition and it's worked out pretty well. Oh and I would be interested in playing. Play by post would work, but I'm assuming there are live group softwares made for online D&D playing out there, if we want to look into that.

Yeah, I normally use Roll20.net for playing online. It's rules generic and has plenty of features. I'm not too fond of D&D 1st edition as combat is pretty convoluted to me, but if you want to I'm willing to give it another shot.

Roll20 does look pretty great, although I'm trying to encourage this stuff happen onsite rather than off. Hm. Although we won't be using the maps, will we? Roll20 would mainly be for communication and dice and stuff. Because I'm pretty sure I can get a mod for Xenforo that allows user to use a 'rolldice' command, that way we can do that aspect of it on site, along with posts and stuff. Still not completely live communication, but I doubt we'd be using mics anyways.

Yeah, my sound card's taken a shit anyways. Hopefully we can work something out. Maps would probably be terribly inconvenient on a play by post thing, so it might all just be text-based.

    Maps are for squares anyways.

Let me look into that rolldice mod.

    Shit, it's $30 - http://xenforo.com/community/resources/throw-a-dice.268/

    That's insanely not worth it.
